Updated pitcher starts

The word is Baker is skipping Clement at least for the next start and going with Rusch...Interesting!!! Clement has struggled since the break while Rusch has pitched well in moderate action. Here would be the updated pitcher starts if Baker goes that way the rest of the season.

@Pirates(3) - Wood, Zambrano, Maddux
@Mets(3) - Rusch, Prior, Wood
Cincy (4) - Zambrano, Maddux, Rusch, Prior
Braves(3) - Wood, Zambrano, Maddux

Unfortunately this leaves Rusch as the starter if we play a tie-breaker, I do not like this, Baker had the luxury with the doubleheaders to tweak his rotation accordingly and it seems short-sighted to not think that far in the future. But a combo Clement/Rusch for a tie-breaker game would not make me happy, especially if it's the Giants as Clement has struggled most of his career against them. Let's hope it's a mute point.

In a tie-breaker senario, I believe that Baker would go with Prior on the 3 days rest (4 days rest if MLB plays the cards right...the series involving the NL wild card will begin on Wednesday, not Tuesday like the other series). While I could immagine a senario in which both Prior and Rusch pitch, the fact is that we need to hope in a tie-breaker game that the offense explodes, so pitching won't be needed. I'd much rather see the offense come out of it's shell for that one game than to have to watch any starter go more than 6 innings.

Before you worry about a possible tiebreaker game, we should be focusing on the guaranteed games we have against good teams.

Braves(3) - Wood, Zambrano, Maddux

THIS I like.

Well the way we're playing I'm hoping the last series is mostly a mute point. Especially if we can save Zambrano for a Game 1 start(especially after last night). If the tiebreaker is Tuesday instead of Monday, then Prior would get the start and that's much more acceptable. What I've seen over the last 2 weeks makes me believe we're not going to have to worry about it.
